I have to abut several pieces of fire resistant drywall (limited access to space under stairs -- one piece won't make it through the little door). I have the fire tape. What about mud -- just the regular stuff, or is there a special compound for fire resistant applications?

Thanks.

nothing special it is all fire resistant

fire taping is a process of roughing in and sealing joints enough for say a garage .

It is just not fully finished
