Dust Mask's

I posted a couple days ago about RZ Mask and did not get any response's. So what is everyone using these Days? Any recommendation's ?

I use the 3M mask (sold at the BORG) that has replaceable filter pads depending on purpose. IIRC < $30

Hi Steve,

I have the 3M mask as well. It works fine but it isn't too comfortable. If the filters are going to age, you'll realize it immediately since they are getting more and more breath resistance. Whenever it's possible I prefer light dust masks that are way more comfortable. It's important that they have the specification P3 (maybe that's a German specification however, don't know this). P3 means that they catch the finest dust particles.

I use the Elipse P100. Good filtration, compact, comfortable.

The NIOSH P100 rated filter medium captures 99.97% of airborne particles

So maybe I was mislead, but are you guys wearing masks w/ hand tools? I always thought the sawdust from handsaws was too big to cause respiratory issues. Planes and chisels are obviously not a problem. Totally understand when using power tools or any aerosols.

Now that I have a Festool sander and dust extractor I don't use the dust mask any more. As with most of us, I use a blend of power and hand tools with hand tools being preferred.

Thank You everyone for the feedback I appreciate this. I occasionally use my band saw and oscillating sander and I have a few projects coming up where I will be using these tools.
