Any  suggestions on a good compressor? A Porter Cable didn't hold up. . . So shopping again. A compressor gets occasional hobby use--> tires and nailer.

Rolair Jc-10. Your usage mirrors my own and this has been a great compressor. It fills quickly and is very quiet.

I have had a Mikita Mac 700 for 9 years and like it very much. It is quieter than most. Still made so parts, should you ever need them, are still available.

I've had the Makita MAC 2400 for about 7.5 years and use it in a way similar to what you describe. Quiet, reliable and use it with various nail guns and staplers as well as other air tools.
