I don't get a chance to post many gloats. I pretty much have all the tools I need so I don't really buy many. I have been on the hunt for another tables saw for the last year and a half to be set up as a dado saw though. It wasn't something I had a burning need for so I just kept my eyes open for a good deal. Well a few weeks ago I found it. Someone posted a bunch of equipment on Craigslist for sale. The pictures were horrible and made the machinery look like junk. The guy also said it was all three phase. Here are the pictures he posted on Craigslist.

As it turned out the tools were all single phase. The guy thought since they wouldn't plug into a standard wall outlet they were three phase. Did I mention the guy was a know it all who didn't know much?

The saw was full of sawdust but once the top was clean it looked great

I cleaned the jointer sander and dust collector up to sell.

Now for what I paid. I bought everything for $300. I spent about 6-8 hours cleaning everything up and in turn I sold the jointer for $300, the sander for $150 and the dust collector for $100. I guess in the end someone paid mea Unisaw and $250 dollars to clean the machines up.

Wow, that sure is a gloat! Gotta love turning rags into riches. Would love to stumble on a score like that.

Did you tell the guys as you were leaving that you robbed him?

Nice. The one thing I notices was the Delta unisaw having plastic handles. For that type of high end saw I'd have expected metal.

Dayle. The handles are metal. What makes you think they would be plastic?

What did you do to clean off the rust?

Getting paid to take tools has to take the cake.

I am sure guys with actual masks and guns often end up with less than that in their pockets.

No doubt about it, you suck.

Big Grin Yep U SUCK

That Uni pic full of dust reminded me of when I got my General, it was full just like that. At some point somebody had put 4 WWII's, 2 Freud cross cut blades, and a Frued wobble Dado brand new in the base I guess as storage for them. When I was 1/2 done sucking all the dust out with the DC I kept hitting them, couldn't figure out what it was. They were worth almost twice what I had in the saw. It's nice when the deal God's smile on you, glad to hear you got a smoking deal.
