Not pattern books, but something I can give to a brand new user of a scroll saw.  I've never owned a scroll saw so I am less than useless in trying to give advice to a new user.

Anyone have a "How To..." book they could recommend?

Delta used to put out books related to specific tools. From back in the 50's. I'm sure I have an extra one of the scrollsaw books. If you want one pm me your address Mike.

John A Nelson has a "Scroll Saw Workbook" that has 25 skill building chapters that would be helpful.

And for cutting with a scroll saw while looking away, here's a video. No gore.

A hearty second for this suggestion.  Probably the best "How To" book on scrolling out there.  John Nelson is the master.  Also look for books by Patrick Spielman, also very good.

Steve Good has a lot of tutorial videos on his website.  Not a book, but a nice supplement to the ones already recommended.

If you are going down a river at 2 mph and your canoe loses a wheel, how much pancake mix would you need to shingle your roof?
