Thumbs Down
My shop is attached to the house, the unknown call it a garage. HVAC piggy backs off of the house.

I have a Bucketboss bib that works quite well. The problem is that in the summer it gets to warm to wear the bib. I've been searching for a carpenter's tool belt. So far not so good luck.

What do the rest of you use?

For shop work, I don't prefer the leather rigs, years ago I got one made of tough fabric, its green.  Similar in style to this one:

I use something very similar to this. My tape clips on and it holds a knife and several pencils as well as a 6" steel rule. Everything else I can take a few steps to grab if I need it. These are the only things I have found I really need to always have at my side to save time.

I wore a conventional leather tool belt for a lot of years doing my side job of contractor/carpenter. I can tell you I hated that thing when it was hot out. Big, Heavy, and Leather are not 3 words that I want right in front of my crotch. Anytime we'd stop for lunch, taking it off it always looked like I had just p'd myself. Absolutely soaked.

Funny, looking at pics for what I was going to show you I see now, all the big heavy rigs are split with an opening for a tape measure, which I can''t think would be comfortable if you had any gut at all, but at least the newer variety wouldn't be quite as hot as my old one where the to big pockets were right in front, NO AIR....

I've since purchased a web like creation, still has tough nail pockets out front, but close to you the web pockets breath well, and allow me to carry whatever I want in them light and airy. LOML had bought mine for me years ago, and just now gave me a blank stare when I asked where she got it, then perked right up, and said "at a store," batting her eyes..........

I've seen one's at HF that weren't far from what I have, also at Lowes, HD, and Menards, the others just cost a lot more. Look like this one. This was suggested it was a "gardeners tool belt" Mine has pockets on both hips, leaving the front, and back open. Not sure what you know about heat, and the body. Didn't mean to go on about my crotch earlier, but keeping it cooler, keeps the rest of you cooler as well, so open in front will help 80% or better right there.

I second what herb g said, I wear the carhartt duck nail apron every day. They last me about a year and a half with hard use but at $20 each they're completely worth it.

**My house is attached to the wood shop.  The unknown think the wood shop is attached to the house.**

I wear cargo pants.  I used to buy the cheap ones on Black Friday, but I have started buying Carharts.  However, to your point, they are too hot in the summer.  Cargo shorts are good then.

I also have a nylon belt with a couple of individual DeWalt pouches, but I don't wear that much in the shop.  I do wear it if I am working outside the shop.
I tried not believing.  That did not work, so now I just believe

I wear a old craftsman leather belt and Carpenter Jean Shorts, with a Klien tape clip belt clip on one side (it also holds my M-12 drivers  with the clips too), and a Toughbuilt clip on the other.  Depending on the Job I clip on on different pouches. Menard's carries them: https://www.menards.com/main/tools-hardw...ilt&ipp=28
I only use the full padded rig & suspenders when I am doing work that requires it.  To hold the leather belt and pants up I use Perry Suspenders: http://www.perrysuspenders.com/rufpersusxl.html
The other nice Pouch is made by Rockler and clips on the belt: http://www.rockler.com/marking-and-measuring-pouch.  Of course the tool I need is always in the other pouch, workbench, tool box or missing from the last time.

Herb;

Great idea if I'm looking for ducks
Big Grin  I bought a carpenters tool belt, a little bulk but I'm going to use it for a while. If it doesn't work out, I guess I'll look for ducks.

Steve; I basically have a man's purse that straps on, I carry to much crap.

Thanks everyone. But while looking for the tool belt a Kreg Mobile Project Center followed me home. My workmate is over 30 years old and needs help doing some of the tasks I need it to do.

All in all, not a bad day.

Shorts and a tee shirt. Why carry tools when everything is a couple steps away?
