Does anybody have a ‘library’ of furniture leg ends/ bottoms? I am going to be making some furniture and am trying to plan out the legs. I have used the simple taper the two inner faces and that works, but I am looking to expand my repertoire. These would be on chest of drawer type furniture so I would only have probably 3 or 4 inches to work with (though I may also have some taller eventually). I could do simple turnings, maybe a carved spiral or a simple inlay, but I don’t want to get so involved that it threatens the viability of the whole projects. The stiles which will become the legs are about 2”x 2”. So I guess lightening them up a bit would be the objective.

Any ideas? As always, photos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How about bun feet? Lots of examples as images, may be a good turning challenge since you need to make multiples.

Pretty closely tied to furniture style unless you want Frankenfurniture. Pick what it is you want to make, confirm the style,as in; Shaker, Queen Ann, Federal. Then Google images of that piece, in the appropriate style. The web is the most complete book there is.

So Shaker Dining Table.............Queen Ann Chest of Drawers, and so on.
Worst thing they can do is cook ya and eat ya
