The bottom of the glass shower door in our master bath has a piece
of extruded aluminum affixed to it, to deflect water back into the shower.
The house is thirty years old and stuff is wearing out. So, for some things
I have "bought some time" with various fixes....

The bottom hinge is worn the worst, and allows the door to sag a bit,
just enough to rub against the tile. I have shimmed it with various bits of
plastic, etc and it will last a bit longer. Fingers crossed. In the middle of
a kitchen remodel and ground floor laminate installation, so don't need
another problem/expense.

Today though, the aluminum would NOT stop rubbing. At first I was
going to use a file and trim off a bit. Deciding that would take a major
amount of time, my eyes lit on a seldom used "Stanley Surform Plane."
Perfect. Worked a treat. Took longer to vacuum up the shavings off the
floor.

     Odd. But it worked.

Pivot hinge??  Add a nylon washer as a spacer. Probably had one years ago.

It may be odd but if it works...
