Just a note that I have a build posted on the Woodworking forum - for those that do not usually venture there. Look for Apothecary Chest.

and definitely worth a read.

I am looking forward to seeing this weekend's progress.

We are at my niece's house for a few days. Viewing Derek's build thread together gave the NIL a chance to ask about hand tool use and why anyone would prefer them. It was a good conversation.

Extra thanks to Derek for providing the opportunity.

I did bring down a Jet mini-lathe with extension and stand this trip. It was my first lathe and the extension and stand came from Jason through SnS. Next trip should bring the grinder with Wolverine, chisels, scrapers, and 2 more Bionic faceshields. I am working on getting them on the slippery slope and into the vortex both.
Big Grin They already have the Sjoberg medium starter bench and a Shopsmith that I gave them. The hand planes are tucked away in my shop awaiting the day that they realize that they want them.

Thanks, Derek.

I am really enjoying this build. I am also using it to try to explain to the NIL the joy of using hand tools in a mixed shop rather than just doing it all with power tools. His eyes are opening slowly.
