I just finished up this nightstand for my neighbor. She asked me to build it for her a few weeks ago. I got to make a few bucks as it was a commissioned project. She wanted it 30” wide 20” deep 28” high; made out of walnut with a low luster finish hand rubbed look and have a rounded edge top. The design was all mine. I decided to make the door panels flat since I had such a nice piece of wood. I used blum soft close hinges. It has one coat of watco natural finish as requested. When I was getting materials I was lucky to be able to pick through an unopened unit of 4qtr walnut. I found nice boards wide enough to be able to make the top from just two boards and a board wide enough to get book matched panels for the doors. My camera had trouble getting the colors right but here's some pictures.
