I'm looking for two wood lathe tool rests for my Jet lathe. They need to be 1" shanks/posts. I'd like either a 4" or 6" straight rest that is offset so I can get closer to some small spindle turnings. I have the modular system with the round bars that thread into the post, but the banjo doesn't move in far enough with this style. I hope I've explained this well enough.
Thanks. Chris

I decided a couple years ago that I wanted a couple more for my Delta/Rockwell lathe. I scrounged around in the garage a little and welded up a couple with scrap metal. Maybe that would be an option for you even if you need to get it welded by someone else.

I'm not looking for the ones listed one bay. I have something similar to those.
I may have to go the route of having something made. I was just hoping to find some used ones. Typically, I don't turn small diameter spindles, but I've had a few projects and where a different tool rest would have been better for me.
Thanks for the replies and the help.

You might try the tool rest dog leg.  I would call to see if they can make it in your post size.

Alternately, the comfort rests do push the edge closer to the work and away from the banjo.

Thanks for the responses. I took the suggestion and made one out of 1/4" stainless plate on a 1" post. I had a local hop weld it. Cost was minimal. They did a great job. It does exactly what I want.
The help on this forum is amazing. I really appreciate it.
