Hey, folks. Hope everyone is staying safe in your shops and wearing your masks (against dust and other baddies).

I think I've had two more new shops since I posted much last in recent years. Now that I'm settled in what I think is my best shop yet (and its smaller than the last!), I think I'll be posting more.

Anyway, I'm reworking my dust collection and upgrading to a Super Dust Deputy. I have all the parts to convert my current Delta single-stage machine.
In the process of reworking the pipe, I'd like to add a central cleanup connection (4") which I can use to connect a hose and attachment for general cleanup.

I think the Rockler "quick connect" system is the most popular, but I've read mixed reviews. The complaints mostly seem centered around difficulty getting the connections apart after use.

What say you? Do you have the Rockler setup? If not, what do you use instead? Yes, I can use a broom and dust pan, but that still includes opportunity to stir it up and breathe it in. I'm looking to upgrade!
I also have a Ridgid shop vac with Dust Stopper, but I honestly hate dragging that thing around.

I have a couple of those tapered, 4" connector pipes that work well.

I have the Rockler Dust-rite connectors with 2 of their "slinky" hoses that I use for all my machines.  After using it for years now, I've eliminated all my dedicated 4" connections.  I love it.  It can stick a bit sometimes, but never bad enough that I even bothered to wipe some wax on the fitting.  Just not an issue for me.

Thanks for your input! I think I'll go ahead and pull the trigger. I'll report back!

This is also super interesting, fall. I've actually seen this in another context, but hadn't realized the inventor had gone into full production. I was thinking it was still just an idea he had for his own shop.
I think i would consider this well worth the money for at least the one cleanup connection I'm looking to set up.

Nice looking and clever new product! Looks like $46 + shipping to get into the Magport business. I like the fact that he seems like a one man operation - good for him.

While looking at the video, I was unable to determine how he cuts the circle out of the middle using his drill press; did anyone pick up on this technique?
