Following along and enjoying the build. Your point about the "assessment" stage is a good reminder for any project. The final tweaking is what makes the job shine - beautiful work as always!

That bench/garage is going to be so nice, I could volunteer to be like "Fonzie" on the old US TV shows, and live in the garage...

By the way, the one picture of a Japanese hammer with a holm-oak / bull-oak / hairy-oak handle, that's one fine looking tool, too!

Thanks Chris. Here is another shot of the gennou ...

On the left is West Australian She-oak, and on the right USA Hard Maple.

Both heads (225gm on left, 375 gm on right) were made by Tenryuu with a Tsuchime (hammer mark) finish. Handles shaped by myself.
