I can't seem to find the article, but someone posted about the BEST choice for sandpaper.  Seems that the mesh type won!  I need to restock my 5" round sander paper and thought I would try the BEST!  Any idea what it was?

If you do any turning stuff just doesn't last. I use only sponges there, and those are disposable (heat buildup and dust buildup wreck both, but I can avoid heat with the sponges).

For regular sanding, mesh somewhat works, though they seem prone to bending and ripping. They also are not "cleanable" or whatever they are marketed as.

Honestly, sandpaper is disposable and consumable (and so frequently so) that I buy whatever (usually Diablo bulk packs), use them, then throw them in the burn pile. I find my shop time more productive and less stressful when I give zero thought to sandpaper.

ETA: Forgot to answer the question - I'm fairly certain it was the 3M Xtract sandpaper that's rated so well.
