I have learned that liquidating requires good pricing. A shelf full of parts being sold at retail will sit for weeks or months with occasional sell, if sold at discounted "picker" price, 50-60% of retail, most will sell within a day or two and you can clear the shelf.
Medical circumstances (Parkinsonism) are behind my liquidating. I have already cleared my old Porsche parts. The funds have all been put to grandkids college funds. My sons won't have to figure what these things are when I am not able to. (they get the stuff they want/need). I get to touch base with old friends, make new acquaintnances, and generally feel good about the process. (and generate more money than an auction).
