I've wandered from the time of your first, how long carving took?  Holy cow!  It's slower than I imagined!  IIRC, the drawing is free hand.  Bruce, you do such amazing work; thank you for sharing your videos.

"EDGE OF THE MEADOW"
]Hello once again everyone this is a photo up date on this project. I have not done very much on this project lately. I have a total of four projects I'm working on in between my chemo & Dr .visits. I will try to get some more videos of the finish carving when I have time.

Hello once again everyone here's a photo update on "Edge of the Meadow" Progress is slow this is very hard wood, I've had to use the Dremel more than I normally would. There's still a great deal of carving and refining yet to do on this piece.

"EDGE OF THE MEADOW"

Hello everyone I've worked on this piece for the last two days to finish this piece. I started  the layout work 9-11-23.  The hollowed Etimoe form was hand drawn and carved by hand and with a Dremel. The final size  is 6" x 7" tall and was finished with Tru-Oil.

The title is very fitting.  Two questions: is the wood walnut and what was the inspiration?

Thank you Bill, I say in the write up that this is a (Etimoe) form. I live right at the Edge of a Meadow and we have Sunflowers; I see squirrels feeding in the sunflowers all the time.

That is amazing. I have a bowl blank I turned green several years ago that has a lip on the inside that I intended to try a pierced design on. I may pull that out and try working on it over the winter but it will be nothing like this.
