I picked up a highly figured QSWO dresser from early 1900s for free. No markings on it at all. Guessing it came from Grand Rapids.
Drawer bottoms are not glue ups, they look like rotary cut poplar but 1/4" thick. Did manufacturers cut trees that thick for sheet stock?
Drawer fronts and top are solid wood qswo veneered with nicer stock. I thought the top was plywood because I saw three distinct layers. Turns out it's a sandwich of solid wood all oriented in same direction.
It needed a lot of work but very fun project.
