Question for Laguna 12/16 owners

Question for Laguna 12/16 owners out there.    I bought a used lathe and it runs fine.    The one thing that does not seem normal is that the digital display does not turn off even when I hit to off button.  It does go back to 0.    Is this normal?  Is there a way to make it turn off? Thanks.

I have noticed this.  I use a power strip with a switch to turn it off when not in use.  

PS I love this lathe
