Going to make an entry door for basement walkout. Considering various options, but customer [wife] insists that light must come through the door and to an extent, I agree, but I also don't want to compromise security too much. We do have camera and alarm systems so the door isn't THAT much a concern - I suppose if the camera above the door doesn't deter someone then a door isn't going to stop them either.
That being said, I'm wondering if anyone has used impact-resistant glass for such an application, or if it can even be custom ordered? I'm aware of all the usual security options ranging from film on the inside of the glass to some kind of wire impregnated glass to wrought iron on the outside - just seeing if I can find an aesthetic solution.
