I found this drill at a yard sale in Dover,NH on Saturday. I believe it was made by a pattern maker, it features a brass body and gearing. The key for the pinion gear is even a work of art. I'm going to replace the handle, it certainly has been replaced along the way.

That is pretty cool. I wonder if it started life as a breast drill. Seems long but perhaps its photo perspective. Is something in the chuck and is it a 1/2" chuck hole?

It's definitely as large as a breast drill, 22 1/8" long. The main gear is 5 5/8". The hole in the chuck is 5/16".

That's gonna be an impressive gear ratio.
