I am looking to install a power vent water heater. I am fine with doing the gas and the copper, and PVC, but have not done any venting.

1. What are some of the codes related to doing a direct power vent water heater? I was told that there needs to be a vertical riser off the tank of at least 12", is this accurate?
2. Is there a max length of PVC venting? (Prob will not be an issue because I will just move unit over to an outside wall)
3. What distance from windows and or doors? Are the distances for vertical, horizontal, or both?

Thanks,

Tommy

Most of that info is in the install manuals. Those are often available online as well. Pick one, check that manual and I can try and answer any more specific questions.
