I'll be in the area the following week.
Have fun. Eat a lobster . . . or two.

I went to the open house last year but left before the Lobster Bake started.

I would love to be there, as I love Lobster. I have been to Lie-Nielsen several years ago, I was on a Business trip and had a couple hours to kill. It is an amazing place but I wasn't into hand tools like I am now, now being retired I can't afford them

I live close enough-about 30 minutes away and will likely make it for the first time.
https://www.lie-nielsen.com/hand-tool-events/USA/109Another tool store in the area is The Shelter institute:
https://www.shelterinstitute.com/That is south on Route 1 about 45 minutes away. Hand tools are world class from the USA and various other countries. It is an alternate (different tools) compared to Woodcraft and Rocklers.
Used tools are available from Liberty tools:
http://www.libertytoolco.com/about.htmlThe Liberty, Maine and especially the Hulls Cove, Maine location seem to be the the best stocked. Hulls Cove is near a main entrance to Acadia National Park.
The Center for Woodworking Crafts is well known:
http://www.woodschool.org/It is 20 minutes away from Lie-Nielson. They have a woodworking display room open to all for free.
The Wooden Boat School is an hour north of Lie-Nielson in Brooklin, Maine:

Somewhat off topic but related. Is there anything to see at LN when they are not having an event? I will be in Mane on Friday, 19 August and wonder if it would be worth an additional 45 minute drive?
TIA
