Can anyone recommend a decent step bit for the 3/4 - 7/8 range? I see reviews all over the place, not matter what price the bit is. I've had an Irwin #2 Unibit for years, I don't use it often, but it when I need it's the only tool for the job. I'd like avoid paying $50 for a bit I'm not likely to use for than a few times a year (if that). Suggestions?

I have this one.  It has done everything I needed it to do.  It doesn't see a lot of heavy use.

Every time that I try to use any brand but Irwin, I end up with unsatisfactory results. The Irwin brand seems to hold up better.
I no longer build museums but don't want to change my name. My new job is a lot less stressful. Life is much better.
