Several years back I purchased some Green Heart wood in Barbados in the Caribbean while on a sailing trip with friends.  It has been stored in my barn and I'm looking at a project using it.  The wood is extremely dense, the boards are 3/4 X 6 1/4 wide and 5 feet long. I have heard it is oily and to get a good bond edge gluing a wipe of acetone or alcohol is desired?  Does anyone have experience with this wood?

Pretreating with ETOH, or MS prior to gluing an oily wood is standard practice.
