I have been fighting issues with an old contractor's saw for years. I have talked about getting a 3 HP cabinet saw for several years but just wouldn't break down and spend the money. Well, I sold my old boat over the weekend and (at my wife's insistence!) ordered a new saw today.

I had been going back and forth between a Grizzly G0690 and G1023RL for quite a while. Wood Magazine had versions of each in their 3 HP reviews in the latest issue, but I still couldn't decide, so I gave the product specialists at Grizzly a call this afternoon. I was connected with Richard in their technical call center. I was actually a bit surprised that he encouraged me to go for the less expensive G1023RL. He went through the features of both saws and why the G1023RL was the right choice for me. He could have easily pushed me to spend a couple of hundred dollars more, but was genuinely interested in matching me with the best saw for my shop.

He was very knowledgeable about their products and also very helpful. I know even the mention of Grizzly tends to bring out people at both ends of the spectrum, but I am thrilled with how easy they made the decision and ordering process.

Now I just have to be patient and wait for my new saw to be delivered!

Probably the saw I would have bought, if the Unisaw was out of my price point.  I think I paid $1475 for mine shipped back around 2000. LT with a Bies fence. I think the Grizzly was about $400-500 less at the time.  Pretty good saw, most likely equal to what I have.... you will notice a big difference from your old saw, especially vibration and cut quality. If you can't deal with the guard, get a good splitter!

Congrats, and I also appreciated the good words about Grizzly. I think with all the companies having a goos conversation with them often just depends on who answers the phone...sounds like Richard is one of the good guys.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

I have the G0690 and know of others with the G1023 and they like it just as much as I like mine.  Good choice.
As of this time I am not teaching vets to turn. Also please do not send any items to me without prior notification.  Thank You Everyone.

It is always the right time, to do the right thing.

I will never forgive Laguna for calling my wife and telling her I only needed the 16" saw and not the 18" saw I wanted.

Those are the saws. I can't wait for it to be delivered so I can get rid of my old, inaccurate saw!

Wait and see how smooth it cuts compared to a contractors saw.  You won't be sorry you bought it.  I have had my 1023 for about 12 years with zero issues.    Roly
