So is gloss varnish just the absence of a flattening agent? If so would you need to stir it before use?

I alwasy give it a stir or two, but I agree it seems unnecessary.  I do the same with Sealcoat.
No animals were injured or killed in the production of this post.

I don't bother stirring mine. (unless I've added thinner)
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

Yes.  No, but I always do for some reason.
