Pairing off the overhang. Looks a bit like a fern or maybe icicles? Anyway nice to get some time in the shop today. Hope everyone else has some this Sunday as well!

Looks like an air plant, the only live green I can grow. Another possibility is iron wood.

That's one of the more satisfying operations in woodworking, in my opinion, paring end-grain and leaving a glassy smooth finish! 

That's how I tell if my chisels and carving tools are sharp enough! :-)
