Thanks to the IT folks that reconfigured the thread like all the others.
At the show on CT this past weekend I had asked for a sharpening challenge and of course someone handed me a blade from a router plane. As I admitted I was stumped I also had a flash of inspiration. I had been thinking about this difficult blade for a while. So on my drive home I had a lot of time to think about it. I've still got a bit of tweaking on the blade holder that fits in the sharpening jig, but here is the result.
More to come.

Sorry Bill, not yet. Just stating to get some names of possible manufacturers. Then I'll have an idea of the investment needed. I am so greatful for the support and interest, that really keeps me going. I wish dang work didn't get in the way so much.

I need someone me help. The holder for the router plane blades at the moment was built to do the blades in my shop, all vintage Stanley. The shaft of the blade is oriented such that it registers in a 'vee' notch perfectly no matter what size the blade. Here is my problem Lie-Nielsen blades are oriented so the the shaft presents a the flat of the square not the point. That will not work in a vee notch. I have a small L-N so I can measure it but I don't have a large blade. So shoestring budget is stretched mighty thin and can't buy some blades just to try out. Can some one with blades measure the shaft across the flats on both L-N and LV. Also is someone can part with a blade or two for a while I'll gladly pay postage.

The LV/Veritas router plane (large and medium) blades measure .375 across the flats. I can send you a blade to test with if that helps.
