I had the same lathe and it worked great for me.  I gave it away to a vet I was teaching and also had to since I hurt my neck using it, but that was due to medical problems with broken bones in my neck and back.

To me personally there is not much to break on them that can not be replaced by parts here in the USA.  If I could afford it I would get three of them to give to those I teach..

The power switch is obsolete and no longer available but ereplacementparts seems to currently have many of the other parts.
