Hinge recommendation needed for built in shoe box lid

I dug out the one I have left from a chest I did a while back.

and I stand corrected you could make it work for a flush fit lid. 

With one caveat: you have to put a drop down leg inside the box at least another 1" + the thickness of the lid and frame to make it work. 

Even then overcoming the force of the hinge is pretty substantial so much so I would go so far as to suggest that the rear mounting point would need further support back to the wall 

considering the size of the lid and the amount of effort it would take to beef the frame up IMO it is still not a good solution.
