How do you secure pin board for marking?

Essentially, the method I use is a Moxon vise with sections of non-slip to prevent movement.



However, this is only part of the story. The second part is accurate transfer of marks, and for this I use a fine marking knife and blue tape. Details for this are below ...

Well, first off I usually do tails first, plus it all depends on what you're dovetailing.


In this photo I haven't cut the tails yet but this is how I secured the two ends on the apron so I cut apply knife lines.



Obviously it worked because I got the joints cut.
