I spoke with a rep at DeWalt today, was curious about the weight difference. She said the 991, the non-hammerdrill, was .3 lbs heavier than the 996 which has the hammer function.
I asked to double check and that was in the info they had. Curious to what the diffeence is.

Interesting.....I would be inclined to think someone at DeWalt fat fingered it.

Lowe's doesn't have the price lowered on their site yet, but looks like the 996 2-piece combo is at $299 right now at HD.

I just picked up the DCK299P2 kit at
Bomgaars black friday sale, think it was on sale through tomorrow for $199! They don't sell online though and was limited to stock on hand. The local store still had several of them last night. This kit includes the premium brushless hammerdrill and impact driver two 5.0 XR batteries, charger and a hard case. Didn't really need another one but couldn't pass it up, had a limit of three and I almost bought the limit.
