Yes it will be back or bottom, look for a box with a one way screw slot on it. You said the light came on but compressor did not run when plugged into non gfci outlet, just plug it in the non gfci that the light comes on and close the door, leave for a w hours and see if it works. Roly

If you get it running plug it into your Kill-o-watt and input your energy cost per kw and leave it in for a month. You will be surprised how little it uses. Does it use more than a new one, yes. Does it justify buying a new one from a cost basis, no. Green, yes. Roly
