I am not seeing any hold-down clamps that came with the assembly jig or in the OP's photos that can hold down, say, a 1/4" thick 3" wide, 20" long strip, or a 2" x 3" x 25" long leg blank.

The Revos apparently are designed to clamp railroad ties and pull together horrifically prepared joints

I can see a tapering jig pretty easy there. Add the upper long flat UHMW to the bottom at a different width and buy a few clamps and run it thru the saw. Not to hard to imagine unless a person is like me and it just gets hard to focus sometimes or widen out my thought pattern.
As of this time I am now teaching vets again. If you have any lumber scraps we can use them to glue up to make some bowl from a board which we have not done yet.. Thank You Everyone.
It is always the right time, to do the right thing.

In other words, one can TURN it into a tapering jig, but can't use it as a tapering jig as we woodworkers know it. That I can agree to.

post it in the shop and sell forum if you decide not to keep it, I might want to turn it into a tapering jig
