Well, I've had some complaints about bumping threads.
So I thought I might institute the "3-bump" rule. So, if I bump a thread 3 times, I'll let it die after that. So I only meant last bump for this particular thread. I'll keep bumping others.
...Naval Aviators, that had balz made of brass and the size of bowling balls, getting shot off the deck at night, in heavy seas, hoping that when they leave the deck that the ship is pointed towards the sky and not the water.

Don't want to de-rail a fine thread, but I also want to add my appreciation for these bumped threads. As a newcomer to the hand tool world, I enjoy seeing these kinds topics resurrected because I likely didn't seem them when they were originally posted. So AFAIC, keep on bumping!
If you are going down a river at 2 mph and your canoe loses a wheel, how much pancake mix would you need to shingle your roof?

I'll keep bumping. I would encourage others to do so as well, because they may have saved threads I didn't.
