Cool. How does insurance and liability come into play for these types of places.

This is a great idea. Here in Chicago, following a tip from a fellow Woodnetter, I've been looking into park district woodshops and also a couple "makerspaces" that have sprung up in the city and have woodworking equipment. The cost is pretty reasonable, although I haven't checked them out yet.

I'm looking forward to this, I'll be one of the instructors as well as shop manager.
If there are any local guys reading this post & interested in classes tell me what would interest you.

The website is now up, the founder will tweak it as he moves forward with the build out of the facility: http://www.thewoodworkersgym.com/

Shoots! I was just in Milwaukee this week. Would have loved to stop by and check the place out. I'll have to plan on making a visit next trip. I still need to drop off a dining room table, dresser, and bookshelf for my son.

Is $140 a month the going rate for a woodshop membership in that area?
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy. |
