Just got back the walnut from the tree behind a building I used to own. 720 bd ft with at least 14 boards 18" wide and 12' long. 4 of those boards were clear or maybe one small knot on the end!!
I also had them put through the kiln some Spalted maple slabs I had to kill the bugs.
Can't wait to get something made!!

Beautiful, did you saw any 8/4? They would make lovely Maloof style rocking chairs. Ken

Beautiful. That must have been a BIG tree to yield 720 BF.

The tree was 32" in diameter about 2 feet up from the ground. The log was about 34' long, cut it into 3 sections.

No 8/4. Never thought about it since I have never made a rocking chair.
