Turkey Calls
#4
I turned several walnut calls and decided to try this spalted hackberry. I am really liking this wood. One will be anodized aluminum and the other will be glass. I will be keeping these for myself. They still need a few more coats of finish before installing sound boards and scratch surfaces.

Now I need to come up with a technique to not make a mess with the glue.

Also, and suggestions for a good fine point pen to sign these?

They look great. I'd like to see that whole process - making a call from start to finish. You should post that up!

I am a newby at this, but I have a process down and its pretty quick. Applying the finish is proving to be a pain. I am trying a water based finish with these and still have a coat or two to apply.

I need to get a resupply of those small dremel sanding cylinders to smooth out the sound holes.
