Hi All,
I thought I would pass along my happy experience with a particular stain. I am concerned about a panel shrinking a bit in the winter and showing the non-stained portion of a panel.
So, I stain the edge of a panel, then glue up and then stain the whole panel. It works only with oil based stains, obviously. The results I get with the "General" company's stain are very excellent. No lap marks, and no two tone issues. Below is an example.
