Thanks guys, you came thru. I went with the acrylic floor paint. That enabled me to do a color that pleased my little girl and the wife, and the budget is also happy.

Basically what I used for my basement shop. It has worked out even better than I imagined.

I recall that in high school the walls were all cinder block. The lower 5 feet were a dark green and the upper 5 feet were a light mint-green. I suppose the dark color was to hide dirt. It looked pretty good.
I'm thinking of painting the walls in my basement (also cinder block). And probably the floor too. (it is the "gym" area of the basement.
I think I will spray the joists a matte black. (I don't want to hide all the plumbing and electrical wiring which, since this is a ranch house, all run in the basement joists.
No animals were injured or killed in the production of this post.
