I need at least 4 or 5 total.
I will attach a picture so you see what I'm talking about.

I don't have a way to make any, or else I would.
I don't want to spend a fortune on them either.
They are only for holding a Mini Gulp dust hood to my lathe.

Here's the hood.

Here's the bars. They are in the pic holding the thing to the lathe.

Do you know what these bars are called & where I can buy some?
I tried McMaster Carr already.
I have angle steel here that has holes drilled in it, but it's not flat & too hard to work with.

If you can change the material to aluminum the slot can be cut on a table saw or router. Also looking at the pics I think that two flat bars with drilled and tapped end caps would do the same thing.
The material cost is cheap, about $7.00 for 5 pieces of 1/8" x 1" x 12" if you can buy it at a box store or some hardware stores. You are better off with two pieces with end caps because the milling of the slot in a small narrow piece will probably warp as it is milled. If you find a machinist that will mill the slots make sure the steel is hot rolled steel ,cold rolled steel warps easily.

Gusset plates might work.

I ducktaped a coat hanger wire to the side of the 4" DC hose and it can be bent to any position

They look like the bracket that comes with a light fixture.  Screw through the two slots into the junction box.  Fixture screws through the center hole.

Herb, tried looking for mending plates? Not slotted, but they have holes. Lots of them out there, for instance:

Check out the sixth image from the top.
