An update for those who have been following the story of my attempt to build a shop.
The weather finally broke and the concrete trucks were able to get to the site.
They started before 8 and by noon it was finished.
I have a framer ready to go so maybe this nightmare will be over soon
Then the hard work will start -- getting everything moved, hooked up and going again
I'm thinking I'll be hiring a moving crew.

Well, it's too late for the commissions to change their mind now (I hope). Looking forward to seeing the progress.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

Floor ain't no good without a roof to keep it dry. Should have done the roof first.

C'mon, we are all living vicariously, envious of your new shop. We need pics!

He's busy right now- has to draw chalk lines on the slab where the power tools are to go.

Here 'tis
Put a run of conduit under the slab to take power to the tablesaw
Ordering lumber Monday. Trusses are built and waiting for delivery.
Been a long year trying to get to this point.

Looks good. Once you get concrete and the lumber shows up it turns I to a building really quick. Good choice on trusses. They are rarely used in construction here as its cheaper to stick frame a roof and few houses have a roof line that you could even use trusses on.
I'm researching what the hassles would be when we move to SC. Here in tx you only need permits etc inside city limits. Seems there will some annoyances so far... Hopefully we will find a place with a shop and I won't have the hassle of building there.
