I use a
nice LED worklight on a tripod that I got at ACE.
I used to use several of the clip-on floods, but the LED is a huge improvement.
I also have some magnetic-base gooseneck lights that can be on the headstock or the BS as needed.

I got one of these for task lighting:

adjustable color temperature and brightness
I have some stands to put it on, haven't figured out which one I'll use yet

Right now, have the shop overheads throughout (8 4’ fixtures in 1000 sq ft shop) and am going to put one more over the lathe. Was also thinking it would be nice to have something that I can use closer to the work piece since the vision isn’t what it used to be (getting old sucks . . . but beats the alternative). Curious what people use to light the workpiece.
Thanks, John
Here is a video I did on lathe lighting.

Here is the light I just bought a week ago for $17. I put 5 of my 1" rare earth magnets on the bottom and it sticks VERY well on the side of my cabinet.

I put it sideways on the side and it will extend very well for lots of light with a 100w led.
