Another idea. I use the MLCS Shear Angle Flush Trim bit. Not spiral but does a pretty good job if you are careful. Look for #7811 it is 2" cutting length with 1/2" shank. If you don't need the bearing it is easily removed. There are other straight flush bits with top and/or bottom mounted bearings but they have no shear angle.

C.M. Description says that bit is for foam, not sure what would happen if it was used on wood.
