Motor wiring question
#4
I just purchased a new Leeson motor for my old Rockwell lathe. The wiring diagram is pretty straight forward as far as the wires that come from the motor itself. However, I'm unsure which of the wires from the power cord is considered L1 and L2. Clearly the green is the ground wire, but if my other options are black or white, which one is which?

Thanks for the help.

If you are connecting the motor for 120V connect L1 to the black (hot) wire and L2 to the white (neutral) wire.   If Connecting for 240V and you are using a 2 conductor with ground cord the black and white are interchangable with L1 & L2 as they both are hot.   Roly

That worked, I'm up and running again!  Thanks for the help.
