Notice that outside end of clutter head can be deflected .001 inch. Is this normal or do I have a problem? If a problem, how to fix? Thanks..Bill in SD

Take the belt off and check both sides. If they are both the same I'd say you have no problem as long as the bearings aren't talking.

This is 1/5 of the thickness of a piece of paper. I doubt your knife height is even set that accurately on a DJ20.
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

Yeah I'd tend to think you're ok. A relatively fine shaving with my hand plane and measured .005" thick. For perspective it would take 200 perfect passes at .005" to remove one inch of wood
