Possible Stanley No 1 find and question

That really is a great find for Stanley collectors. You could just lightly clean it, and then put it on a shelf. Or list it and buy something(s) you wanted to use.

Just an observation but I don't think the price of an average #1 has increased very much at all over the last 15 years or so...But that's pretty true regarding vintage hand tools in general..when compared to how much the price of new tools has increased...Even Harbor Freight has raised their prices significantly over the past couple years.

Actually Jack, they may be about equal, if not less. I've seen one at a tool sale this year for $850. A decade ago, that price would easily be a grand (and I think the $850 was too low).
