I've been seeing an old Stanley No 2 on Craiglist near me for $140. What's one of them worth?

OK, I can't stand it, I'll take it.
Bob, I'd like to buy a blade from you, send me a PM.

Thank God! Now I don't have to fret about it.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

Not to hijack the thread. This is the plane in question. Not sure why I'd have need for a No. 2.

Wow, check out the business end of the plane blade. Looks as if he tried to make it a scrub plane.

Yeah I saw that too and thought the same thing. Very curved looking iron. Wasn't sure that's what it was at first.

Mo. I miss the days of using my dinghy with a girlfriend too. Zack Butler-4/18/24 The Revos apparently are designed to clamp railroad ties and pull together horrifically prepared joints WaterlooMark 02/9/2020

Happy to see this go to a woodnetter.

Glad someone else picked this up. I just couldn't get the nerve up to spend that kind of money on myself right before Christmas. I got a few things on Cyber Monday (Lee Valley), my first tool from Woodpeckers (small square), and though I would like a No 1, I didn't want the consequences. I thought about saying it was a present for the kids.
I've even thought about one of the reproduction ones, but if I go that route, it would have to be something that would retain value. |
