Wondering IF I should stain the inside of the box, as well? Hmmmm...and, maybe varnish it, as well....?

First coat of Amber Shellac is now applied to the box....will do a second coat after a bit...

3rd coat on, and buffed out..
length, 11-7/8" depth, 5-1/2" by 5-1/2"
Close the lid..
Now....to figure out what the next project will be....might be a while

Looks good, but just a constructive observation, if you widened the tails as to reduce the number of pins, 1) it is going to take less time/effort to cut the joinery. 2) makes a cleaner looking joint (IMHO).

Doesn't take all that long to do these....most are sized to the chisels I have. I tend to do pins first, anyway, as I get better joints that way. One wide tail, for where the grooves go, to split the lid off.
