Interesting Router Plane ...

With your turning skills, I see 2 knobs.. a little rehab and you'd have that pulling shavings!

too bad about that broken stub of clamping bolt on the blade clamp.  By the time you finish removing the stub, the hole may be ready for retapping - and then you can retap to a standard thread and buy a thumbscrew at the hardware store.

Nice find. I’ve been looking for one of those for a bit. Old tool hunting is pretty limited here.

Lets see...soaked the clamp in PBBlaster for a while.   Then easy-out to remove most of the broken bolt..

   
And then cleaned the sole a bit....had to dig through the tap & die box...

   
And dig out a 1/4" x 20 tap, and a wrench...and a drill bit...drilled a bit..and then the tap..

   
Find 2 knobs that seemed to match each other...

   
Then went to work and the cutter...trying to get past the pits, straighten the edge, and get it sharp...

   
Bought the adjuster disc on ebay....and a pair of thumbscrews....which ran the cost of the plane up by $20 or so...regrind the tip of the bolt..

   
To the required point. assembled the plane, as best as I could..
 

   
Set up a test track...

   
Knifed 2 lines, marked with a pencil, deepened with a backsaw...and set the cutter...
 

   
And gave it a test drive..

   
Wheel gets here thursday mailbox....will see how it looks like, then,   Just under $55-$60 for this plane...so far...

Adjuster wheel arrived today's mail....
Threaded rod needed it's threads "chased"....used the wheel...

   
Cranked it a few times, oiled the threads...

   
Should be all set to got to work....

The cutters for Lee Valley's router plane were designed to fit the Stanley, too, although you have to flip the adjuster wheel over, I think because they're longer.
